PATRICK GUINO
His sculptures seem older than memory while already inhabiting the future.
Under his hands, marble seems to lose its certainty. It bends, opens and rises until weight gives way to movement, and absence becomes part of the form.
His sculptures seem to exist beyond any fixed place or story. They appear like signs, fragments or vessels from an unknown language… open enough to feel universal, yet resistant to explanation.
Guino does not force a form onto the stone. He seems to listen to it, following its tensions, its limits and its possibilities, until something emerges that feels as though it had been there all along.
What remains is not the weight of the stone, but the strange impression that something has been set free.
